A little bit about me.
My work stems from passion and the desire to see people be their best self.
I am a Certified Personal Trainer through National Academy of Sports Medicine and a Certified Nutrition Coach through Precision Nutrition in Exercise Nutrition Pn1.
Fitness and nutrition have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. But the real journey for me started as a gift to myself after graduating from university. I had spent too many years slouched over textbooks, eating processed foods and not sleeping enough. So about 9 years ago, I started cooking and moving again. Movement was the medicine that I’ve been missing.
My original goal was to change my body composition by attending bootcamp classes. I enjoyed the endorphins and the ass kicking, but eventually I outgrew bootcamp style training. I wanted there to be more meaning behind what I was spending so many hours a week doing. I enrolled in Martial Arts classes and started training Chinese, Filipino, Indonesian and Western Martial Arts systems. I became an amateur athlete and amateur level boxer. Self Defence is always at the forefront of my own training. My goal of changing my body composition vanished as I became more engrossed in building new skills.
The secret was that I fell in love with the process! Skill building became my new goal, and my body transformed as I improved upon those skills. I added endurance and strength training to the mix as I transitioned to competitive training. Kettlebells, bodyweight and barbell training became staples in my program. That takes a toll on the body. That’s when I began experimenting with nutrition and learning what worked best for health, healing and performance. This was the moment I understood it was more than just a hobby for me, it was a passion and something I wanted to help others succeed in too. At this stage in my life I use functional strength and movement training along with martial arts for physical and cognitive health and focus on nutrition as the driving force in my wellness.
My aim is to show my clients what their minds and bodies are capable of by improving their mental and physical health through good nutrition and body movement. The most rewarding feeling is seeing the delight on a client’s face when they surprise themselves with their own results. My philosophy on health and fitness is that it has to be sustainable, easy and flexible no matter the lifestyle, so that you can live life to the fullest and thrive. I coach clients in nutrition and fitness, making changes that clients can easily incorporate into their everyday lives. This saves them time, they get healthier and feel better. There is no better feeling than getting your energy back!
